Officially the capital city was Chaguaramas in
Trinidad; however, in practice Port of Spain acted as federal capital.
Nowadays, the islands forming the West Indies Federation
comprise the independent nations of Antigua & Barbuda,
Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St.
Vincent & the Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago, and the
overseas territories of Anguilla, Cayman Islands, Montserrat and the
& Caicos Islands.
